Postmodernism was originally a reaction to modernism, it is the movement from which postmodernism seems to grow or emerge It is used and shown and has been the point of departure fora lot of works of literature, architecture, and design, as well as in marketing and business and the interpretation of history, law and culture in the late 20th century. Postmodernism can be described as a set of critical, strategic and rhetorical practices employing concepts such as difference, repetition, the trace, the simulacrum, and hyperreality to destabilize other concepts such as presence, identity, historical progress, and so on. Hyperreality can be defined as a mean to characterise the way consciousness defines what is actually "real" in a world where all kinds of media can radically shape and filter the original event or experience being depicted.
Postmodernism is highly skeptical of explanations which claim to be valid for all groups, and instead it focuses on the relative truths of each person. In the postmodern understanding, interpretation is everything; reality only comes into being through our interpretations of what the world means to us individually. Postmodernism relies on concrete experience over abstract principles, knowing always that the outcome of one's own experience will necessarily be relative to that specific person, rather than certain and universal.

I truly like the choice of the picture. To me, the best manifestation of postmodernism nowadays is in the discipline of architecture. We can clearly see how postmodern buildings are different from the old ones. They are outstanding and not following any exact patterns. I can think of many examples of postmodern buildings that are established in the Asian countries today. They are all an artistic expression of hyperreality. They are so different from one another to defend the principle that there is not a single reality. The world is full of relativity, so let us enjoy it even in our home's shapes!
